Asleep gorging on the alleged "huge EBITDA profits[sic]" they are being fed on? As it happens, the airport hasn't paid a dividend in at least 5 years.

Not sure what you mean by "generate further PE returns"? But there are advanced talks to sell Infrabridge's minority stake. As far as I know, the councils are planning to keep the 51% they currently have.

As far as passengers suffering, as an occasional user, I think Newcastle is one of the better small airports in the UK or anywhere. And having a deep-pocketed new investor stepping in will likely mean that it gets even better.
