I just flew LHR-HND in F and I was very impressed with the food. I ended up going with Western cuisine and I was very happy with my choice. While the Japanese food I’ve had on JAL has been good, it hasn’t been as good as the food they offered on this ride.

Started with some Salon


the appetizer was this cantaloupe / truffle / bacon situation that was nearly inedible. I was very concerned — but after that, it was superb from caviar to a seared tuna steak appetizer, delicious fish and a superb piece of steak. By now the Salon had run out so I switched to Hibiki 100th Anniversary 'Old Fashioned cocktails' (which, mind you, are actually just 1 part Kokoru Okinawa sugar liquor to 4 parts Hibiki, by I digress). I asked for the Japanese dessert and they said “why not have both?” and I was happy I did. More in my upcoming trip report.

On another note, has anyone ever had the “Mexican sandwich”? I am so curious what the heck that could be.
