What is the current cancellation policy for AS flights booked with AS miles outside of the 24-hour window? Free cancellation with miles re-deposited into the account? Or is there fees involved? If free cancellation then when is the latest we can cancel? 24 hours before scheduled departure? TIA.
Most such fares indicate a free refund, and in the fine print say the flight needs to be cancelled prior to departure. No fees, though I've read about certain international/partner redemptions possibly having a small nonrefundable component. I haven't tested the timing, but to me that would be up to the final minute prior to departure time.
