I was told that another JW Marriott would open in Bangkok, in the Huai Kwang area, and found the confirmation.
"The Swissôtel Bangkok Ratchada, located in Huai Khwang, is indeed being renovated and rebranded as a JW Marriott Hotel. This renovation is being undertaken by Asset World Corp (AWC) and is scheduled to be completed and open as a JW Marriott in 2028. The hotel will be part of a mixed-use complex, including the Le Concorde office tower and retail spaces.
Another Bangkok hotel that Marriott is "stealing" from Accor.
Another AWC property (managed by Marriott or another international chain of hotels) that will be renovated and upgraded to a higher category.
It looks like AWC is betting on the Huai Khwang area, that became the 2nd Chinatown in Bangkok. It might be targeting mainland China tourists.
"Here's a more detailed breakdown:
- Rebranding:
The hotel, formerly known as Swissôtel Bangkok Ratchada, is being converted to a JW Marriott.
- Ownership and Renovation:
