I decided to stay in the Monaco in the end. The rooms have been really nicely renovated. Restaurant is now a new concept called Marin - Diamond breakfast was any main and a coffee/juice (although you got something to give a tip). Evening meal in Marin was excellent and partly covered by the resort fee credit. The outdoor canopy and lobby are both still under construction, but completed to a state that it really didn’t make too much difference.

I was upgraded on my points reservation to a 10th floor suite. All in all, an excellent stay.
