Well, as data point, last stay was okay overall, but I probably jinxed my luck as for the last stay in late May they were rather by the book than on the generous side.
I had a corporate rate booking for a King Plus room and got a King Deluxe. No Executive room and no lounge access this time as HHonors Gold.
Now I'm fully aware that they don't have to give Executive lounge access nor an upgrade, but as I shared previously, in the last 5 years I have always gotten either an Executive room or Executive Jr. Suite as upgrade from a base room (not even a Plus one) and lounge access extended. Funnily, they weren't even very busy either running around 60% only (their own words) so not sure.
For starters, the trainee doing the check in welcomed me as a new guest and started to explain the hotel. When I told her I'm surprised by that as I have stayed 10-15 times already in the last few years they claimed they cannot see the stay history of guests. Very odd as that has not really been my experience at other Hilton's/ Conrad's etc.
Anyways, when I clarified about the lounge access, first they launched immediately into a lecture so I told them I'm not asking to get it, I'm just clarifying whether it was granted or not as it was extended as a courtesy (above HHonors requirements) on all my past stays.
To be honest, while the lounge is decent enough, we were going out for dinner anyways so no loss there.
Then I was told I'm getting breakfast as Gold benefit instead, which is fine in principle, but that wasn't the case here as it was included in my rate already. Managed to get the 1k points for Gold instead instead so fine on that front (yes, change your preference in the profile / app 24 hrs before check in).
Room was fine (a bit sloppy on maintenance/ cleaning with very slow drain in shower and calcified shower head / nozzles that were spraying everywhere except down

) and the actual room type differences are marginal anyways. Still a very good hotel and super convenient location for flying out of MUC obviously as linked to terminals, so we will be back.
