My wife had a 2.5hr layover in doh just a few hours ago that was cut short by a 1hr late arrival. She went straight to the next gate to find that the outbound aircraft was being held for reasons like cleaning. It finally only took off nearly 1.5hrs late--i suspect mainly to help connections. It is scheduled to arrive only 1hr late. Hope this data point helps.
