Currently, I have 3 reservations, two domestic and one international. I like to save as a PDF and potentially print my itinerary. The international reservation allows me to print the entire reservation with 6 flights on one formatted page, ("Print trip and receipt"). This also provides a barcode to use at the airport. The two domestic reservations don't have this feature; in the same place it just says "Print trip". Then when that prints it takes up four pages and is not formatted in any way, it is the same as the print command from the Browser and takes up four pages?? WHY? What I need to do with the other two reservations that don't print a formatted version of the itinerary is send myself an email of the itinerary and then use Adobe acrobat to reformat it removing the not needed email headers, then I need to use another app if I actually want to print it... I need 4 apps to print a formatted version with less information than the one the website provides for only some reservations.
If anyone knows of a way to print my reservation in a formatted way, using the website, please let me know. If anyone knows why AA prefers to not enable this nice feature for all their reservations, let me know. (That is, why is the "Print trip and receipt" option not available for all reservations. )
Thank you!
I'm assuming the answer to my query is simply that the IT/Web development team at AA.com simply don't have a clue what they are doing anymore. This department should have evolved from the original "Sabre" development team, I suspect that it has been gutted to save money. I first had the ability to book online tickets 40 years ago, when in 1985 CompuServe added "Eaasy SABRE" to their online services. I was and had been a CompuServe user since the early 1980s. An itinerary was easier to print in 1985 than it is today. Today, most of the time, I can't easily save it as a PDF either.
