I received notification of a schedule change today for a flight booked from Sydney to Washington Dc. With this schedule change, I now have an overnight which will be over 15 hours and the arrival time has changed by 4+ hours. The tricky part is I booked this through Orbitz because the flight prices were materially different between American and Orbitz.
Am I able to call American directly to work on this schedule change or does it need to go through Orbitz? I know United would let me work directly with the airline in this situation but I am not as familiar with AA. Am I able to change my flight by a day to a more reasonable time that does not make me travel for over 36 hours? Could I change to a different airport within 300 miles as well? I am just trying to understand all of my options. TIA
