BA56 (JNB-LHR) 12 June
While outbound BA55 on 21 May had a repeat of menus previously posted, the return flight had some options that seemed to be new.
The seared beef fillet with pineapple was enjoyable and made a change to the usual smoke salmon options. The wine selection was the same as posted for BA59 upthread - the Californian Pinot quite acceptable through the meal.
The beef poitjie for main should have been tender and melting but a little chewy but a good flavour to the gravy. The FA had never come across the word poitjie so she was appreciative of my pronunciation (though I am not an Afrikaans speaker) My son-in-law does a better job of both the pronunciation and the cooking!
Partner enjoyed the hake option for her main which worked well with the soave.
