IAH-GRR UA6031, June 14, E175, 12:05pm departure, lunch

So the new UA Express lunch/dinner boxes have arrived, and honestly not bad, although mine was frozen. PDB was actually rose wine or water which was a first for me. Woman in front of my asked for white wine and the FA reluctantly brought it after some huffing and puffing. Hot towels and beverages/nuts were brought out after take off. All served in the new glassware and crockery which is nice since previously UAX had the hard plastic glasses (think they were the same ones used in Polaris on the ground). FA said there was a choice of chicken wrap, veggie wrap or cheese box. I selected the chicken wrap and I have to admit the quality seemed much nicer than the previous sandwiches that they would serve on UAX. The poke salad served with it was nice with edemame, pineapple, seaweed salad, etc. And the chocolate lava cake was delicious! However the entire thing was frozen! I still ate most of it as I was starving but they need to let these thaw more. From what I could tell, everyone around me had frozen meals too. Not sure if this was a fluke or it happens all of the time like the Polaris salads. I will write to UA and let them know. If they can fix that, this is a pretty good meal.

4 1/2 pretzels in there. A record for me!

Didn't eat the rice as it was frozen solid but that chocolate lava cake was great. Would be amazing at room temperature.

The ingredient list was a mile long but I think that's to be expected with any airline food
