Hello everyone,

Family members are currently flying LHR-ATH on BA, hoping to connect soon with an Aegean (A3) flight from ATH to HER. I have two questions about connecting in Athens.

For context:

* This is a last-minute arrangement since they missed the direct ATH to HER BA flight due to major delays on the TATL flight from the US
* They are travelling on separate tickets, one issued by BA for the LHR to ATH flight, one issued by A3 for the ATH to HER flight
* They do not have any checked bags
* They are already checked in for the ATH to HER flight and have boarding passes
* I know that they must clear passport control in Athens as they enter the Schengen space
* The arrival flight from LHR arrives in area A of the airport
* The departure flight to HER leaves from area B of the airport
* They have approximately 1h 45 minutes in Athens for the transfer

Here are my two questions:

1. Do they need to go through security again in Athens?
2. What is the best way to transfer from area A to area B? Is there a passport control checkpoint inside security to where they don't have to exit the security area?
