I don’t think it is an issue widespread across all Anker power banks, so yea… as long as you don’t have the A1263, you should be fine (well, for now).

But the point is, if Anker, being one of the biggest phone charger / cable / power bank companies around can (be forced to?) recognise and recall such a product as a fire-hazard, I have to wonder how other, smaller brands’ power banks stack up in this regard…

My NiteCore 5000 battery became a spicy pillow inside the casing, could see the bulging. I got a NC 10000 as a replacement, which has been fine, but am staying wary.

(IIRC Anker doesn’t manufacture their product now — if ever? — but instead uses a bunch of different 3rd parties for that, and it feels like their product build quality dropped off a few years ago; however, they still need to keep up their QC requirements, especially to keep news like this from doing damage to their brand. A one-off’s impact can be managed, but it’s still 1m units…)
