ANA Basic Economy: I'm Confused about Seat Selection

I was looking at ticket prices from SEA to SIN recently and ANA had some of the cheapest tickets...with a catch. Apparently they have a new Economy fare called Basic, which according to them, has the following restrictions:
1. 1 x 23kg bag instead of 2 x 23kg (not an issue for me)
2. No refunds, upgrades or changes (no big deal)
AND....
3. No seat selection

I'm confused here; is ANA's no-seat selection policy similar to many LCCs and Alaska Saver where you got assigned a random seat instantly without any option to choose (even for a fee like AA/DL/UA) 24 hours before check-in, or whether that no seat selection policy is only for seat selections made before the check-in window of T-24, at which we can select seats for free without random assignments?

Any of you who have flown ANA Basic? I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. I very much prefer window seat and I'm not sure if checking in at SEA right when the counter opens will help my chances.

Thank you.
