I had a reservation for the Hilton Rose Hall Montego Bay for next April. I called Hilton diamond desk today when I noticed the reservation missing from my account. The rate is about 300usd for an all-inclusive Easter week, so a great rate (it’s now about 200 dollars more a night)

‘’When I got the diamond desk and said Rose Hall they immediately knew the issue. They said they were hoping to keep this property through the end of the year, but the change was made effective 6/10. They told me all point reservations won’t be honored but cash will be, albeit no diamond benefits. Since it’s an all inclusive, not a huge loss except the points. They told me to call once I completed the stay and they’ll provide the points. This wouldn’t be a bad deal, since presumably I’ll also get Hyatt points. I asked about being moved to another Hilton property, but the two nearby locations are SLH and they said they therefore can’t do anything to help me with the price.

I asked to be transferred to the hotel to verify the reservation. When I got through they didn’t have the reservation. After about 30-minutes talking to them, and sending my Hilton confirmation they sent me a new reservation with Hyatt, at my rate previously reserved.

The whole thing was very pleasant and while I prefer staying at a Hilton, I’m glad to have a resolution now, as opposed to being unsure for months.
