What makes it interesting is, the T&Cs for gold and diamond for mid-status benefit are also amended into similar phrase structure as green and silver, except for the inclusion of 'redemption group nominees':-

• For Green and Silver Members, lounge passes are only available to Members or their travel companion on flights operated or marketed by Cathay Pacific.
• For Gold and Diamond Members, lounge passes are only available to the Member, their travel companion or their Redemption Group Nominees on flights operated or marketed by Cathay Pacific.

So perhaps, as suggested in some rumours/speculations, there is a major overhaul for the entire CX lounge system? I can't see a noticeable change in T&Cs for the 'purchased'/'Asiamiles redeemed' lounge pass though. But the restriction for 'All lounge passes described in this section must be booked when booking a ticket.' is loosened.
