The reason I'm moving my spending away from Venture X is that I have a good alternative: Fidelity Visa by Elan Financials.
It offers 2X cashback (automatically transfers to a Fidelity account, and can be transfered again to other bank accounts) , no foreign transaction fees, and even Global Entry/TSA precheck starting last year.
It is a lot easier to redeem cashbacks than Venture X miles because Venture X requires either travel purchases or transfer to airline miles.
As of last year Avianca was my preferred travel partner for Venture X but Avianca has devalued so much it is no longer a good deal.
