Here is my DP, found a cheaper flexible rate on hotels.com for the same night, same room. Submitted the claim form, got reply back within an hour, they denied it as they said their non-refundable, pre-paid rate is cheaper. I quoted them section 6 of their T&C saying that it is not the same cancellation policy but they said it doesn't matter because the rate I booked on IHG is not their lowest rate. BS.

their lowest rate was non refundable without breakfast. But I wanted breakfast, didn’t care about cancellation so when I submitted I was denied as it’s not the cheapest rate they offer. I told them but I wanted the breakfast rate. They didn’t care.
it used to work nicely for me. So far Marriot and Accor seems the best.
