I've regularly been just buying front seats because the pricing sometimes isn't too bad. Did it for two flights I booked today where 2D was $250 more than 8A.

I used to value it at $50/hour in my 40s, $65/hour in my late 40s and now $80/hour in my early 50s.

If devaluing miles means they still need revenue sales -- count me in if the price is right.

Only time will tell, but out of 30 booked flights I have in the next 3-4 months, 28 of them show only 0-2 seats booked up front. American HAS to sell them one way or another.
