I actually kind of quite liked the bold look of that Viceroy/FS.
Something about it seemed to suggest there was luxury inside. Or at least some sort of refined, elevated experience.
But agree it's totally out of place for the surroundings.
Then again, there's no shortage of that in the Caribbean. Maybe even Anguilla especially.
Cap Juluca itself isn't um....erm... 'of place'.
It's a Moorish/Mediterranian fever dream. Like someone picked up Amenjena, took it through Paros for a good white-washing, and plopped it back down on Maunday's. Somehow it works.
On our first trip to Anguilla (@2002), we stayed at a place called Cove Castles. I don't think it's there anymore, but wow, talk about out of place. It wasn't a hotel, rather a collection of around eight 1-to-2 bedroom 'pods'. Super modern, insanely well-fitted, sleek luxury. But the structures looked like some kind of whitewashed alien planetarium-array from the distant future. It worked, too.
