Is that the calendar day? The "stay" day (check-in to check-out)?
Based on a bad experience in the past (not at Accor), I now warn hotels if I plan on arriving after midnight.
It used to count on a room (especially a pre-paid one) being available until check-out time, but I have learned the hard way that hotels do not respect that.
No show is very simple, you don't checkin on the day you are supposed to. Staff is not made of magicians, they have hundreds of guests to take care of everyday, they are not supposed to guess what at time you will arrive. That's why there is 2 simple ways to avoid a no-show and this kind of situation: drop an email to the hotel saying that you will arrive late (that's what i do everytime i know i will arrive after 6pm) or use the online checkin to specify the ETA, you can even leave a comment during online checkin. At least the info is not lost in translation and you have a track record of the info you gave to the hotel
