There is a contradiction in the facts that you state.
A non-refundable booking cannot be left with a remaining charge to be paid at the hotel. Never.
A non-refundable booking with a mix of points and cash, means that your credit card should have been charged for the cash portion at the time of booking (or later if the hotel chooses so). However, if you book via Accor website, I think the card is charged automatically.
You mentioned that the points were deducted from your account.
This does not mean that the booking was prepaid.
I just booked a Pullman in Laos, fully flexible rate: the points were deducted and the balance will be settled at the hotel. If I cancel, the points will be credited back.
It can very well be that you thought you had a prepaid booking (because the points were deducted), but in fact you had a flexible booking.
