Lucky you...Last week an inexperienced DEN agent working the Lufthansa counter, when faced with one checked bag and two separate LH tickets (DEN-MUC, MUC-AMS, 3-hour layover) asked me "Can you pick up your bag in Munich?"

Correct answer: "ABSOLUTELY NOT." I politely insisted she ask for help. It was a teachable moment.
