It is being dumbed down in terms of champers IMO.

We flew first LHR-JFK a week ago last Sat. only piper in the concorde room and piper in the first cabin. (Although both times they popped a bottle for a single glass (or two)).

Return last Friday on concorde, only piper in lounge and plane.

Given that I will never likely pay the necessary for a bottle I was looking forward to a sip. Never mind, the service from ALL of the crews (even on the connecting flights) made up for it.
