Wednesday 11th June

  • Today was mt flight back home on BA6 to Heathrow. I started off with breakfast at the hotel and then got a taxi to Haneda. As there was no traffic, I arrived before checkin opened just before 10:05. After waiting in a nearby seating area, I went into the First/CW line where there was no queue.
  • After checking in, I had a look around Haneda Sky Garden for some souvenirs and bought a 3 coloured dango snack and a Snorlax plushie.
  • I then proceeded to security. Annoyingly I walked past the main checkpoint to the smaller one as I had seen earlier it was less busy. But it had closed at 10:45! So I walked back to the main one where the procedure it took about 10 minutes.I had to take off my hitop trainers for some reason, unlike at Heathrow.
  • I then had a look around the shops and went to wait in the JAL First Lounge. I found the massage chairs which where amazing, the best ones I've ever been in! I then had a quick bite to eat and some sake before proceeding to the gate 143.
  • There was no queue to board at 12:25 and I was shown to my seat this time. But there where a few brown stains on the seat which the crew had to wipe away. We taxiied along P11, L, L4, A4, H, C, C1 to 34R.
  • The flight was uneventful. I had an amouse bouch, starter, main and dessert. All decent quality. The crew asked me if I wanted to be woken up for the 2nd service to which I replied yes. But they did not so I woke up when the lights where turned back on 40 minutes to landing! I was starving so asked for a cheese plate and some tea.
  • Arriving at Heathrow from the north-east, we landed on 27R and taxiied to gate 534 via A9W, A, Link 58 and B.
  • Immigration at the egates took no time and I waited a few minutes for my suitcase before proceeded to my ride, which I booked through Wheeley. I've been very impressed with them so far.
  • I will write up some final thoughts and conclusion next.
Spending:
  • Taxi to Haneda ¥7,770
  • Lawson kitcats ¥1,166
  • Snorlax plushie ¥2,200
  • Dango snack ¥330
