No, they do not (if you are used to the UA method). The way to get what you want is to pre-select (assuming you have the ability to do so). Otherwise, the process is FEBO for domestic flights (front even, back odd), but that is inconsistent. Front to back for international (but given the additional catering provided for crew meals, etc., I've rarely overhead someone denied their first choice).
It should also be noted that unlike UA, preorders on DL affect the catering order for the flight (rather than just allocating what UA has decided to order): they're effectively the same thing as ordering special meals (as evidenced by the preorder code (e.g. at one point BFML for the beef option) getting printed on the boarding pass).
