By the way, I have always pictured SFO having just one area for immigration upon international arrival. If I want to meet up with someone heading for passport control, I take it it doesn't matter whether the flight arrives at A or G?
I take it you mean which exit to meet the person? Just a guess, I would say there is about 50 feet between Exit G and Exit A. I am sure you will be able to see the arrivals board to see which side your person is coming in.
