These days I only use AS if I'm down at A or B gates for my next departure. If I'm up the other end, I will 100% go to AM Garden instead. Not because the wines are better, of course, just because it's all a bit 'meh' in AS these days and I prefer the ambiance of AM Garden.
Just arrived here for the first time as I’m flying back on BA tonight in F. Whilst the scale and structure are very impressive, I’d rate the CCR as a nicer place to relax. It’s so quiet in here, no music, just faint chatter of bored staff (it’s quiet atm). Sushi is not great (smoked salmon and cream cheese sushi ?!) and the salad I’ve had is “fine”. Wines discussed above so I won’t add to that.
So yes, would rather be in here than waiting at the gate, but i don’t think size means better in this case ! Just my 2 pence worth. CCR, QF F lounge in LAX, the Pier in HK etc all rank higher for me
