I don’t think this is a big switch from the original plan because don’t forget the first B789 refit will take at least 3 months due to requiring FAA sign-off once the refit is completed. By managing the first B789 refit alongside the remaining B788 fleet, it is likely G-ZBKA will only return to the skies when about 8 or 9 of the B788 fleet is already completed and back in service, so this is a better way for BA to get both fleets done by Nov’25 (B788 fleet) and Q4’26 (B789 fleet).
