GRU-LIM
A little off topic — an equipment change from a 320 to a 787 resulted in me being moved from premium economy to business, which i appreciated even if it came with some unnecessary reticketing pain. Breakfast was that same sad egg-only omelette out of GRU that I’ve had half a dozen times before. I need to stop ordering it and just pick the meats and cheeses or croque monsieur.
LIM-SJO
This is a new route for me. Today’s options were:
Signature Dish by Chef Mayra Flores: Steamed Nikkei-inspired a Peruvian Sudado with Fish of the Day and Cassava Puree
or
Cold Main Dish of Mixed Greens with “Solterito Arequipeño” - Fava Beans, Corn, Tomato, Onion - Green Olives and Smoked Mayonnaise
The sudado was respectable. Not a Latam-wich in sight!
Final note
It’s a little disappointing that Latam won’t be opening their lounge at the new terminal in LIM until August, but it is what it is. I accessed “The Club LIM” with PP. Design was nice. Food was underwhelming; think Club SFO if you have been there. I’m unclear why they promote a local chef partnership and then pump out pasta and marinara sauce, random veggie curry, and a 95% non-Peruvian spread on the buffet.
I might try my PP dollars at one of the two restaurants on the way back.
