I have the same disapointment on Business flight . I fly sometimes in Business Class long distance on Airbus A350-900 but with the old cabin (former Joon probably?). Impossible to know before the flight unmess someone have a tip?
To be 100% sure to fly the new LP cabin, you have to be on the plane with the new LP. Otherwise, anything can happen in terms of aircraft substitution up until the very last minute. To get a sense of very likely aircraft deployment, the flights with the new LP cabin are labeled in the reservation screen on the AF website. That should give you a pretty high likelihood of flying the new LP cabin.
For the A359, Joon never flew that plane (they had A340s). Yes, some A359 have Opera seats, but even those that do not have a very nice Business Class seat and chosing not to fly only because of the Optima seat, well, may be a bit of an overkill. But to each his own.
