Sure I'm just barking at the moon at this point, but it's pretty clear that Marriott used Covid as an opportunity to take customers points from them so that they wouldn't be able to redeem them for free stays. A company that does over a Billion dollars in net income definitely has the ability and resources to send it's customers an email that their points are nearing expiration; they chose not to. Only learned that my 200K+ points (including points I had purchased) were gone when I logged in to my account so see the last time I had a sign up bonus from the Chase Bonvoy card. When I finally got a hold of someone in customer service to see if it was possible to get them reinstated, there was no sympathy, no thanks for being a member, just nope (with a sucks for you attitude). Needless to say, I will do everything I can to never stay at a Marriott property when I travel.
