So, I just made it through immigration at DPS today. Wasn’t a great experience compared with BKK in Thailand which is as quick and painless as immigration can be.
First, I had to scan a QR code and do a health declaration. Second, I had to scan a QR code to do the Visa On Arrival form. Not a bad form, but it seems like you’ve got to wait in line whether you pay in cash or by credit card. Costs USD $34 in cash, or a +5% surcharge to use a credit card; so you can in fact use one.
Then you have to scan yet another QR code for your customs declaration. Having to pull out my passport around 5 times, and transcribing information from it 3 of those 5 times, is not my idea of a good time when I’m exhausted on arrival from traveling.
I suspect there’s a way to fill out some of these forms online in advance that would save a lot of time and hassle.
