United did a great job with this Premium Transcontinental flight... food was great for airplane food and an improvement from the past few years. I think with the arrival meal, they serve a lot of food (and possibly overkill if you eat everything, like me), but it provides options for busy travelers who may need a meal before landing so they can hit the ground running. Some notes:
- Did the express dining service which included sundae at the same time as everything else. I could have actually waited on the sundae, and surprisingly everyone else was served "express style" with starters and entree, just not their dessert
- For all the criticism, I actually enjoyed the 3 pretzels in my warmed nut mix - pretzels go great with cocktails
- Veal was great, the meat portion was substantial
- No bread basket as I've seen in other photos, everyone got a pre-plated but warmed roll
- Sundae was amazing, always great to have ice cream on a plane
- Pre arrival salad was awesome, I thought it was far better than a Panera style salad for what its worth
- Me
Nitpicking: A pre-arrival chocolate or warm cookie would have been an over-the-top addition, as they used to serve on old "PS" flights. But I'm not complaining.
Excellent service and food overall!
