Saturday 7th June

  • Today I just felt so beat and tired I decided to have a lie in instead of getting the 09:02 Haruka 6 to Kyoto for visit the Railway Museum there. I wasted 2640 yen.
  • Instead after I woke up I went for lunch at Menya Kachidoki Osaka-Umeshiba for some delicious frothy chicken broth salt ramen. There was a short 10 minutes queue and the vending machine can be English.
  • Afterwards I made my way to Harukas 300 obervation tower. I had pre-booked on Klook but there was no line anyway. I then went straight to bag the helipad tour just in case the slots ran out. By chance the next tour was only 20 minutes away.
  • The helipad tour was pretty cool and was lucky to get a good view. The rest of the observatory was great too, and I think better then Sky Building.
  • I was very thirsty so got a drink and snack at their cafe and sat in the Sky Garden.
  • I went made my way down to the attached Tennoji shopping centre to get a Kirby cake for later and Moomin plushie.
  • After going back to my hotel for a rest, I relaised there was afternoon tea being served. It was OK, not as nice as the RC Fukuoka one.
  • At 7pm, I had booked a Dotonbori drinking tour with Magical Trip (via Viator as I had a 10% discount). I'm alwasy very nervous before these group tours as you never know whose going to turn up, but the group I had was excellent (an UK couple and a guy from South America). We visited 3 places ... BOKUSUI, Sakana no Jimbe and finally Osake no Museum Shinsaibashi. The 1st served tempura, the 2nd was karage and the 3rd was jus whisky! I highly recommend doing their tours and they have great guides and it's nice meeting fellow travellers (especially since I'm solo).
  • Afterward the tour I visited the nearby Hozen-ji Temple to see some cute cats!
Miles walked = 5.3
