The worst thing about the Shanghai part was the long queueing to get stamped in and out and go through security. Otherwise the airport facilities were OK. I didn't think to look at the western food options as the Asian was OK by me.

Did you book your trip yet?

I was back in MEL in April-May, for my auntie's 90th and to see my latest granddaughter, again. That was a BA CW Partner plus (for a single) award that went ABZ-SYD via Singapore. The compromise on that one was that the rtn leg from SYD-SIN was economy on Jetstar, then onto BA CW for the rest to ABZ . It doesn't seem to be bookable online but they did it over the phone with me. I did the MEL legs separately.

I'm hearing from several people here in Aberdeen who fly from EDI, leaving their car for free at a park & ride in Dunfermline which has a direct bus to EDI. Not suitable for elderly I guess but would be OK for a mere 70yo like me.
