Premium Plus LAX-EWR

First time flying United Premium Plus. Hard product was impressive and comfortable, I would say better than domestic first. Even in the middle seat back row. Service was mediocre, no pre-departure beverage (water bottles, even small ones would have been a nice touch), no post-takeoff beverage, no one checking in throughout the flight... pretty much economy class style service with free alcohol.

Main meal entree choices were the same offerings available in Business with 2 choices omitted (business gets 4 choices). Cannot say if the meal was exactly what was service in business, but the choices were the same. Arrival meal entree was the same choices as business class.

Main meal menu options. Interestingly they ran out of the vegetarian option and only had chicken available by the time they made it to the third row.

Chicken was passable but rubbery, not much flavor to it, no salad dressing provided, cold roll (would have liked the bread basket from Business), dessert was tiny and meh.

Arrival meal menu options. Shrimp was the more popular choice.

Shrimp and rice actually very good, 5 shrimp in total, pickled vegetables were missing though... large rice portion, carb bomb with the cold roll... Could have used more sauce for the rice. Fruit fresh.

Overall a pleasant experience in Premium Plus for the LAX-EWR flight, much better than Y and hard product exceeds comfort of regular domestic first, service does not.
