When I used to travel for business I was often in EWR. As a regular European traveller my status got me in to the lighthouse lounge there when many US travellers of the same travel frequency were relegated to sitting in the bars below. Not been through there since Continental became United, so no idea what the SP is these days.
United domestic first doesn't get lounge access to the united club unless they are global services or have a membership.
If connecting from/to an international flight then any UA gold and above can access the united club.
