only segment which is x is dps to hkg . I was trying to upgrade this to business . No more seat opened till morning .
this is my experience sorry-
they offered cash price to upgrade but the prices was 28 million IDR ( 1700 usd ) - which is outrageous considering 4 hour flight . They said I could upgrade with miles . I asked how many miles and she said I don’t have enough miles . I said if you give me number I can transfer in few minutes . before she could answer supervisor came and said I have to call Marco Polo to. Upgrade . we can’t upgrade any more redemption seat here . Not sure what suddenly changed .
Nothing suddenly changed unfortunately, the first agent just gave you false hope. X is a redemption economy fareclass, right? If so, that fareclass is not upgradeable with miles. It's a redemption booking!
However, seeing this itinerary, I do think part of what I said above is inaccurate....since it seems to be a U (redemption biz) booking, I think maybe you have hope if DPS to HKG is open in redemption biz.
But your itinerary with all those sectors and what is complicated beyond my pay grade. Hopefully others can chime in
