I agree with others, with the caveat that you likely won't be able to move the flights by more than
maybe a week ("can I go next weekend instead?"). You can't turn a lengthy delay in March into a Christmas trip -- at least, not without paying whatever fare difference is involved. But you can definitely say "I give up, just send me tomorrow" or "just send me via IAD instead of EWR" or whatever and not expect pushback.
