I usually get upgrades to suites anyway but 1) this is a family vacation where a suite was needed for sure so I liked the guarantee 2) I'm not sure I'd get a suite for 12 days straight as that is tough

I've actually stayed at this beach property for 28 nights + this 12 night one for total of 40 nights over last 2 years. Having a suite guaranteed for all 40 nights was awesome.

I was going to book a suite at a JW Marriott elsewhere so I am that will book into suites so TSUs do actually save me a ton of money.

They absolutely change where I vacation and book. HR London Churchill for 6 nights last summer. I actually flew from China to US and stopped in London because I could use TSU for a free stopover vacation in a suite. Chose this over other routes where I couldn't use a TSU at a stopover. And stayed at HR over another chain where I'd have to pay for suites.

Since im generally able to use TSUs for effectively 40 nights a year, it's a huge savings for me.
