But I don't think it is a secret that BA is indeed cautious, and takes advice from the security services about routes, as well as more the basic sanctions / restrictions that apply to European airlines but not necessarily non European airlines. The other factor here, though, is sheer economics - given wind forecasts and oil costs / contracts. BA and MAS may well reach separate conclusions about the implications. I keep thinking that Syrian airspace will open up but despite TK and QR flying there it has yet so to do.
