The XLR/LR was the business model to go for. Efficient enough to run daily flights from UK regional airports to the US East Coast, and if it fails easy enough to palm off the aircraft on any short haul operator.
Could he have even gotten a hold of any of them though? What's the lead time from Airbus on
any variant of the 320 series right now? A lease? Well then, he'd be on the hook for that for quite some time I'd think no?
