Is online boarding pass ok, or does one have to run up to the check in counters and get a bp? got drivers license, no passport. Not sure if they ask for passports at the gate.

thanks
At Check in they will print out your boarding pass and affix a 'D' sticker on it.

When you pass by 'immigration' a stamp will be stamped on the boarding pass to make it 'valid' you're in the international area as a domestic passenger

Upon arrival, border protection will keep your boarding pass as evidence of 'cross border travel as a domestic passenger'
