Gifted a GOH to my FIL staying at Hyatt Regency Orange County. Staying the same 2 night stay as him, he, staying as a GOH was pre-upgraded to a suite while I being a Globalist was not, had to ask for it at the desk. So I think it’s all about who is doing the auditing or FD check in.

I’ve actually been told by my GOH’s (as has been their experiences) and even a hotel’s GM (a Grand Hyatt if that matters) that a person staying at X hotel for the first time as a GOH should get better treatment than a Globalist who’s stayed there 5 times. The GM explained that this is to drive them not only to want to come back to that specific property, but to want to earn Globalist benefits for themselves as well. Was told this was passed down from both Hyatt as well as their Regional Manager.
