Since the 85,000 point FNC can only be used on a standard room, the 50,000 point option might be worth considering in some cases, particularly for leisure travel when you are also booking a higher category room for other nights, and don’t want to move rooms during your stay. I’ve been lucky to find a few hotels at this level where the standard room is fine or have booked the standard room and been upgraded - and have thus gotten very good value from the 85,000 point FNC, but would have to consider my expected plans carefully before choosing between these.
