Thursday 5th June
- Today I had an excellent breakfast in the club lounge featuring a small buffet and waffles and headed straight on the train to Kizu station for a tea farm tour by Obubu Teas. The 1st train (Osaka Loop Line) was very busy but managed to grab a seat after a few stops and the 2nd train was pretty empty.
- I got picked up along with a few other visitors by their own shuttle service. The main farm building was very pretty and we were warmly welcomed by the staff.
- Overall I really enjoyed the experience and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with an interest in teas. We had a tasting sessions of a variety of teas they produce, then a tour of the fields which looked spectacular in the sunshine, a tour of their factory and a tea-based lunch.
- Most of the other visitors were foreign tourists so it was nice to hear their experiences of Japan.
- After a long but interesting day, I headed on the train home (this time a direct service to Osaka station) and on the way back to the hotel picked up a freshly baked Rikuro cheesecake after queuing for 20 minutes, and then visited the Pokemon and Nintendo stores.
- I had dinner at a pizza restaurant I saw on Abroad in Japan (Hughes Pizza), the pepperoni was excellent ... a lot better then even the stone baked ones you get in the UK!
Miles walked = 3.8
Spending:
- Nintendo Osaka ¥2,420
- Cheesecake ¥1,065
- Tea ¥1100
- Hughes pizza ¥1705
- Train Osaka - Kizu ¥860
