Alright then! If I was looking to enter the market and take business away from BA, I'd start with LGW to JFK and LAS, each x3 per week, and offer package holidays as well as flights only. If you could include a codeshare agreement with an Easyjet on the EU side, and a Sprit/Allegiant/JetStar/Airasia on the other ends, then you might have a means to get enough passengers to route to the Longhaul destinations.
