The general rule is PNR's cannot be combined, so I assume it applies in this case. You can link the PNR's, but I assume the issue is requesting an e up in advance (vs at the airport) for your partner. If you see an oporttunity I would e mail or call the concierge, but I am not certain if they can do the request on a separate PNR until check-in opens.
If you haven't used your nominee that would also be an option.
