2) New hotel openings are notorious for being delayed. Especially fancy hotels in trendy locations. Id try and book a refundable alternative option in case the Thompson opening gets pushed.
agree it is more expensive and superior.
The reservation I have is for next May, so I am very confident it will be open by then, considering the delay right now and the new anticipated opening date
